Why Salman Khan is a rockstar

BEFORE I try to decode the phenomenon that is Salman Khan, I want to tell you that if it wasn't for him, I wouldn’t be here.
This is thus an attempt at explaining why Salman is considered a “rockstar” and I am hoping to do justice to it. I was trying to think of comparisons that I could draw between the image of a rockstar vis-à-vis Salman’s personality. Immediately the phrases: “attitude”, “having a cult following”, “a leader” and “respected by his contemporaries” come to mind.
An icon
It’s simple, anyone who knows Salman, loves Salman. He has touched many lives and not a single one has forgotten his deeds for them even today. Whether he picked up a poor man and gave him a job, or picked up an unknown injured guy on the road, Salman is the only star that will not go public with his deeds. Many have come and gone but Salman has continued to make millions go crazy. That’s because everything he does, he does from his heart.
A leader
When “bhai” (as he is fondly called) says something, everyone respectfully follows. There is a reason why all that Salman does becomes a fad. His is the only body that people describe as perfect as the Greek god Adonis’. Every young turk in the country wants a physique like his, but the comparison seldom holds water. Salman was one of the first to promote physical fitness and thorough exercising routines. He’s often seen cycling to the studios. And often the star indulges his nephews and nieces in swimming races at his Panvel farmhouse.
A gentleman
The only way to gain respect is by giving it and this is what makes Salman, the most respectable guy around. He often stands up and speaks to you just to show respect. He also has this policy of personally feeding everyone who visits his home or his parties. He will take your plate and fill it up without even asking you how much you’d like in it. He will also make sure your drivers and spot boys are well fed while they wait for you outside his house.
This may seem to read like the scribblings of an eager fan. But I’d like to stand up and announce: I am proud to be one. Behind the rockstar is a Salman who is a friend, there is Salman who is actually a sweet boy and Salman who everyone wants to party with.
