The year's first and most prestigious film award, the 13th Hero Honda Star Screen Awards, is round the corner and promises to be an evening of glamour and entertainment.
Lined up for the evening are performances by newcomer Shiney Ahuja, heart-throb Salman Khan and even Helen. While Kareena Kapoor will swing to the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's version of Yeh mera dil from Don, Helen will join her on stage to show the world how things were done in her time. Shahid Kapur will perform hits from 36 China Town and Fida and Khan will gyrate to numbers from Salaam-e-Ishq and Jaan-e-Mann
Rehearsals are on in full swing for the big day. "The Screen awards are a huge event and I'm excited as well as tense about my performance," says Rimi Sen who has two more days of rehearsals to go before D-day. She will perform to a medley from Phir Hera Pheri and Gomaal. Like Sen, Isha Kopikkar also loves performing on stage and is excited about her performance to Aaj ki raat from Don. "This is my first performance for Screen. I love the live interaction with the audience. Unlike shooting, it's a do-or-die situation on stage and it's fun," says Kopikkar.
In the past, leading ladies like Priyanka Chopra, Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta have sizzled on the floorboards and this year another siren, Bipasha Basu, will groove to Touch me from Dhoom 2 and the highly popular Beedi from Omkara. Sunidhi Chouhan is likely to generate a few laughs with her parody act where she'll croon the songs nominated for various categories like best singer, lyrics and music
With such a variety of performances, the 13th Annual Screen Awards on January 6 will only leave the viewers asking for more.
