Mumbai: When Committed Communities Development Trust (CCDT) along with Hyatt Regency organised an auction of photographs to raise funds for AIDS-affected children, actor Salman Khan was invited to speak on the disease.
What the guests perhaps weren't expecting, was Salman's straight talk on safe sex. "I appeal to the people who do not have AIDS to please use condoms," Salman said.
While shedding light on the safety issue, Salman, in his trademark style, also ridiculed those who have condemned the condom.
"Mika said in Punjab that it's not the same thing with the condom on. I think that's stupid. You should use two condoms if possible," said the actor.
For a star who's always got the knack for getting into trouble, Salman quietly side-stepped the laurels that were showered on him for his charity. Instead, he spoke about AIDS prevention, and made a lot of sense.
So, next time a condom company looks for star endorsements, they'll sure know who to look at.
