Old MSK - Indolink: August 7, 2004
In the big, bad world of Hollywood, where rivalry and competition
between stars are but natural, Akshay Kumar went ahead and
did something so sweet that producer Sajid Nadiadwala was
stunned.
"While watching the first trial we realised the second
half was a bit too lengthy. But since Salman Khan and I are
good friends and have been doing so many films together, I
felt a little awkward to cut his scenes. Then Akshay himself
stepped in and removed my
dilemma. He requested us to cut one of his songs." That's
called the perfect cut.
Meanwhile Sajid looks smug when told that Mujhse Shaadi Karoge
had taken a very good opening. "It's a clean, entertaining
film that doesn't hurt anyone's sentiments," he admits.
The Salman-Akshay chemistry must have worked and that's why
the film is doing well. "Above all it was me! That's
why the film worked," says Sajid and roars with laughter.

MSK Rocks! - Bollyvista: August 2, 2004
'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' opens to the best initial of the year.
The weekend held up well although the cricket game affected
Sunday. In Mumbai the crowds came despite the awful weather.
'Julie' is a winner for all concerned with the film, while
'Asambhav' is exactly the opposite and a loser for all concerned.
'Gayab' drops 75% in the second week and is a flop.
'Garv' is doing well in the interiors. The film has around
225 prints in circulation in the fourth week but only 20 of
them are in the big metros.
Salman smiles - Indiatimes: July 31, 2004
Mujhse Shaadi Karogi hit the theatres on Friday and once again
the magic of Salman Khan seems to be doing wonders.
As with all David Dhawan films, this one too demands you to
leave your brain behind for two-and-a-half hours of unadulterated
entertainment. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra and Akshay
Kumar.
Two friends
and a monsoon shaadi - Indiatimes: July 30, 2004
In an industry where friendships are as shortlived as
they are fickle, the still-going-strong equation between
Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala is somewhat of a mystery.
Nadiadwala persisted with Salman when the latter's chips
were down and others had written him off as a has-been.
And now when the comeback Khan's stars are once again
on the rise, Nadiadwala has made sure that his blockbuster
Mujhse Shaadi Karogi has the hero doing his darndest
best to catch lady love Priyanka Chopra's attention.
Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala share their excitement
on the eve of their release Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. Perhaps
Nadiadwala considers Salman to be his lucky charm or
maybe he's simply a smart businessman who's learnt to
play his cards well, but what is beyond doubt is that
the Salman-Sajid combination arouses audience's curiosity
and interest, which inevitably augurs well for box-office
collections.
Such is the bond between the two that the otherwise
cautious and play-hard-to-get Salman signs movies with
Sajid without even going through the script. Incidentally,
MSK is their fourth film together, and everyone's waiting
to see if the pair is going to deliver the goods this
time as well.
Directed by David Dhawan, this through and through family
entertainer from the Nadiadwala Grandson banner is about
an urban professional girl's dilemma over choosing her
life partner. Though some might consider Salman's role
in the movie to be on the maudlin, lovelorn side, this
slotting has, in fact, turned out to be his biggest
strength as he summons his ample histrionic skills to
give the role a touch of the comic.
Besides the prized catch Salman, the movie also has
infatuated khiladi Akshay Kumar eyeing, you guessed
it, Chopra. But can the movie ride on the reputation
of its actors alone? And will MSK live up to the hype
that's been created around it? If the feedback received
by the film frat and trade pundits at the preview held
at Film City on July 27 are anything to go by, then
we have a winner on our hands.
According to Taran Adarsh, editor of a popular trade
journal, "MSK has a good starcast, and makes for
a complete clean entertainer." "The advance
bookings have been phenomenal. It should do well,"
adds Shravan Shroff of Fame Adlabs. The Kapoor sisters,
Kareena and Karisma, found the movie to be side-splittingly
funny, while Jaya Bachchan thought that the on-screen
chemistry between Salman and Akshay was crackling. But
perhaps the best compliment comes from Raj Kanwar, director
of Andaaz , Deewana and Judaai (all love triangles)
who asserts, "After a long while, I've seen such
a complete entertainer. I would say MSK could be held
up as a textbook on good entertainment."
In the coming weeks we'll know just how many are willing
to endorse Kanwar's view. The box-office verdict will
clearly tell us if the Salman-Sajid magic has come good
again or it has failed to cast its spell this time round.
Meanwhile, we hope their friendship endures.

Invite Salman to
your shaadi - IndiaFM: July 29, 2004
Wanna invite Salman Khan to your Shaadi ? It's very much possible!
All you got to do is watch his latest release Mujhse Shaadi
Karogi at the Fame Adlabs multiplex in Mumbai and answer some
simple questions. If you are the lucky one, Salman will be
the chief guest to your function.
Others prizes include a foreign honeymoon
trip and wedding outfits by Biba and Neeta Lulla. Well, everything's
designed as per the Shaadi theme of the film.
Who gets Priyanka
- Bollyvista: July 29, 2004
Warning: If you are planing to watch 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi'
and would not like the fun to be spoiled, please stop reading
this piece here! The gossip is that Salman Khan takes Priyanka
Chopra away in the climax of 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' {somewhat
premised on 'Anger Management'}. There is a cricket match
(featuring prominent Indian batsmen) near the climax of the
film during which Salman makes a public declaration of his
love for Miss Chopra. Akshay Kumar hands Priyanka over to
him. But the movie does not end on an emotional note! There
is still some comedy, even after the surrender, and pretty
foul comedy at that!
Surprise for Priyanka - Indiaexpress: July
29, 2004
Salman Khan had a sweet surprise for his co-star Priyanka
Chopra on her birthday on 18th of July.
Co-incidentally, July 18 was also the last day of shooting
for David Dhawan's Mujhse Shaadi Karogi starring Salman, Priyanka
and Akshay Kumar .
That day Salman came to the shoot and acted as if he was unaware
of Priyanka's b'day. As usual, he kept on cracking his wacky
humor on sets and made everybody laugh.
A few moments later Salman and producer Sajid Nadiadwala brought
a cake and surprised the Chopra girl.
As Salman was in a real jocular mood he actually did the countdown
to the cutting of the cake from sixty to one with the seriousness
of the countdown of a space shuttle launch. And in less than
a few seconds after the birthday girl cut the cake everybody
had his mouth full.
MSK Mini Premiere - IndiaFM: July 28, 2004
The first screening of the keenly anticipated flick MUJHSE
SHAADI KAROGI was held for the crème de la crème
of the film industry on Tuesday night [July 27] at Adlabs,
Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari. The screening was akin to a
mini premiere, since it witnessed a number of stars and celebrities
attending the show.
Mrs. Jaya Bachchan [looking classy as ever], Anupam Kher and
wife Kiron Kher with son Sikander, Saif Ali Khan and wife
Amrita Singh, Karisma and Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukerji with
mom, Shilpa and Shamita Shetty with their parents, Bipasha
Basu minus John Abraham [“he's in Sri Lanka for DHOOM”],
Kunal [HUM TUM] Kohli, Salman's sister Alvira and hubby Atul
Agnihotri, Revathy [PHIR MILENGE], Shashi and Anu Ranjan,
Nilofer Tajdar Amrohi, Manish Malhotra and Shefali Jariwala
[of 'Kanta Laga' fame] were the VIPs present.
Salman Khan, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and David Dhawan walked
in at the intermission and stayed back till the end. Mrs.
Lali Dhawan and Alvira personally looked after the guests
present.
The media wasn't invited for this exclusive, closed-door preview.
Except this writer! So, what's the verdict on the movie? Await
the review...
Grand Release
for MSK - Bollyvista: July 28, 2004
Trust producer Sajid Nadiadwala to spring a surprise with
his latest film . After lying low for few years, he bounced
back with 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', which has the combination
of Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar for the first time ever on
the silver screen, along with Priyanka Chopra. We all are
aware of the mighty publicity campaign going on for the film
, which has set new trends. The film is hot everywhere and
to cash in on the heat, Sajid has plans to exploit the film
to the fullest in overseas markets. The film will be released
abroad with over 150 prints, a record in itself, and over
400 prints in India. Sajid is confident of his product. Our
best wishes to him!
Zee Distributes - Bollyvista: July 28, 2004
Zee Network UK is throwing its hat into the film production
and distribution arena on a worldwide level. With over 225
million viewers in 80 lands, it's well on its way to the top.
For starters, it has already produced the film 'Gaddar'.
Cinemagoers in the UK will be looking forward to this Friday
{July 30th}, for its release of Sajid Nadia Walla's 'Mujhse
Shaadi Karogi'.
The network has already signed several other films for distribution
before the year's end, including 'One Dollar Curry', which
it has also produced.
Salman/Akshay Jokes - Indolink: July 27,
2004
It was work and play for Salman and Akshay Kumar on the sets
of David Dhawan´s ´Mujhse Shaadi Karogi´
and the mood extended even to the subsequent joint-interviews.
Salman Khan recently recalled the experiences saying "Man
... we freaked out together . Akki is a fine man and has a
great sense of humour . His jokes and my wacky humour entertained
everyone present on the sets and also the MTV crew."
Priyanka Chopra however could not understand most of their
´double meaning´ jokes .
Marriage Mandaps
- IndiaFM: July 27, 2004
You won't believe this, but several theatres across the country
as well in Overseas will be decorated like marriage mandaps
to herald the arrival of the biggest wedding of the season
- MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI. In keeping with the theme of the film,
producer Sajid Nadiadwala and his distributors have decided
to release the film in this unique style.
“You have to make the entire process of movie-going
exciting,” Sajid tells me, “Since the title itself
talks of marriage, making the entrance of theatres resemble
mandaps was the best possible way to attract cinegoers.”
Meanwhile, Zee makes its foray into Overseas distribution
with M.S.K. and the company has decided to release the film
with as many as 165 prints in the said territory - the highest
number for a Salman starrer. “They're leaving no stone
unturned to give it their best shot. They've even organized
contests, whereby the winners [six couples] will be gifted
air tickets to Switzerland,” Sajid adds.
Salman vs Akshay - HT: July 26, 2004
Mujhse Shaadi Karogi? That's the question that Salman Khan
and Akshay Kumar ask Priyanka Chopra in this week's potential
blockbuster.
It's been a while since Bollywood had a big-budget comedy
with a top-class cast at the helm. Akshay had earlier done
a comedy with David Dhawan. "Yeah, 'Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi'
with Juhi Chawla. I really liked doing that film. To this
day it remains one of my favourite films," said Akshay.
Salman has a two-tier interest in the new film. Not only has
he done super-successful comedies with director David Dhawan
like Biwi No.1, Judwaa and Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge, Salman's
personal and professional relationship with producer Sajid
Nadiadwala also goes back a long way.
So, does Salman have a better role in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi
than Akshay?
No way! In fact the comedy's USP is the one-on-one between
the two.
As they do a Tom and Jerry for Priyanka Chopra's hand, one
is likely to get the first 'true blue' two-hero film since
Ramesh Sippy's Sholay.
After Sholay the two-hero concept has always been lopsided.
All the films in the 1980s featuring Amitabh Bachchan with
Vinod Khanna/Shashi Kapoor were conspicuously weighed in the
former's favour.
In the 1990s, there was Rajkumar Santoshi's Andaz Apna Apna
where Aamir Khan and Salman Khan shared equal footage and
laughter.
These apart, it's rare for a two-hero film to apportion the
scene-stealing cake equally to both men.
David Dhawan excels in two-hero interactive comedies. His
last film Ek Aur Ek Gyarah featured Sanjay Dutt and Govinda
fooling around to their hearts' content.
In the latest film, for added appeal there's Priyanka Chopra
who's already scored bull's eye with Akshay in Andaaz and
would, therefore, be considered a hit-and-happening proposition
at the box office.
Most of all it's Dhawan, the guru of giggles, who needs to
reinvent his laughs.
He started the process in his last film. But in Mujhse Shaadi
Karogi? the blend of beach babes and boys' bacchanalia is
expected to yield rich dividends.
Says Patna exhibitor Roshan Singh, "Titles with shaadi
(marriage) and dulhan (bride) have always been considered
auspicious. Years back, Shaadi directed by Krishnan-Panju
was a hit. Then there was Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai and David
Dhawan's Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge.
"In the recent releases Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai... was
a box office hit. Hence we expect Mujhse Shaadi Karogi? to
be a major success."
Akshay's last film Aan was a no-no at the box office. Salman's
Garv opened well but slid thereafter. And Priyanka's Asambhav,
released last week, seems to be a washout.
Can the trio generate box office magic on the wings of mirth?
Apart from Nagesh Kukunoor's badly received Hyderabad Blues
2 and Rajat Kapoor's Raghu Romeo, there hasn't been any significant
comedy lately.
Maybe Mujhse Shaadi Karogi? will be another reason for genuine
happiness in the industry after Main Hoon Na.
Why MSK went to
Mauritius? - Bollyvista: July 26, 2004
Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' will open this Friday
to a an earth shattering response for sure, and here is an
interesting tit-bit about why the movie was shot in Mauritius
despite being based in Goa. According to producer Sajid Nadiadwala,
the movie has a lot of beach scenes and ocean shots. While
Goa has some of the best beaches in the world, the clear waters
of Mauritius were the main reason for shifting there and the
results are worth the extra crores spent. Lets hope so Mr.
Nadiadwala!
Anger Management - IndiaFM: July 26, 2004
David Dhawan's latest comic offering Mujhse Shaadi Karogi
has two guys falling for a girl without any rona-dhona stuff
like in usual Bollywood love triangles. So Akshay Kumar and
Salman Khan falling in for Priyanka Chopra in the film did
remind many a David Dhawan fans of one of his earlier films
Deewana Mastana (1997) where Govinda and Anil Kapoor were
wooing Juhi Chawla.
However if the buzz is to be believed, the film is not a remake
of Deewana Mastana but has some small elements derived from
the Hollywood comedy Anger Management (2003) where Akshay
Kumar (who plays Jack Nicholson's bit) plays a doctor who
comes to cure Salman Khan (who plays the Adam Sandler bit)
on Priyanka's call. Also in the Hollywood film, the end was
picturized in a football stadium while over here, the game
is just changed to adapt to the Indian arena and the climax
is picturized on the cricket field .
How correct the info is will be known only on the coming Friday
when the film releases. Till then keep guessing…
Corporates promoting MSK - Indolink: July
23, 2004
Corprates Brittania Industries and Reliance Infocom are promoting
Sajid Nadiadwala´s up coming release ´Mujhse Shaadi
Karogi´.
While Brittania will be using its ´Maska Chaska´biscuit
brand , Reliance are promoting the film on its mobile service
feature R-World .
Reliance Infocom has previously been associated with with
the promotion of big movies like ´Kal Ho Naa Ho´
, ´Koi Mil Gaya ...´ and the recent success ´Garv
- Pride & Honour´.
Publicity for MSK - Bollyvista: July 21, 2004
Reports coming in from all around the country are that the
publicity for 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' is probably the best
ever seen. They have used the old style of large hoardings
in Jodhpur, Jalandhar and Jamnagar and it seems to have worked,
as it is talk of the trade.
Leaf skirt dance - Indolink: July 19, 2004
It seems like Salman and Akshay Kumar have danced to a song
wearing leaf skirts in the upcoming ´Mujhse Shaadi Karogi
´. When asked if he felt awkward about it Akshay Kumar
says " No , we danced to impress the girl . We weren´t
feeling awkward because there is no scope for awkwardness
in this line . We had to do a beach dance and obviously we
couldn´t have worn a three piece suit ."
Neither Salman or Akshay - Bollyvista: July
19, 2004
Has David Dhawan repeated a 'Deewana Mastana' in his next,
'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi'? At least that's what the loose-talkers
are saying! We hear that in the climax neither Akshay Kumar
nor Salman Khan gets Priyanka Chopra. Another hero (whose
identity has been kept a secret) walks in at the end and takes
the ex-beauty queen away! Who's this hero? Is it John Abraham
or someone else? Let's wait and watch! But remember we told
you first!
Music creating waves - July 13, 2004
The music of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainments' latest offering,
'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' has caught on in a big way. Its three
songs - 'Rab Kare Mujhko Bhi Pyaar Ho Jaye' (Udit, Alka),
'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' (Sonu, Udit, Sunidhi) and 'Aaja Soniya'
(Sonu, Alka) were instant hits.
Now, its fourth song - 'Laal Dupatta' is also rapidly climbing
the popularity charts. The remaining three songs are also
quite easy to hum (though not in the same league). With the
film yet to release, one has to wait and see where the present
sales figures of 13-14 lakh units (very near to that of 'Hum
Tum' and 'Lakshya') end up!
No wonder the music of the film is selling like hot cakes
and has put its music directors Sajid and Wajid in the top
league overnight.
MSK Trailors - July 6, 2004
Every time producer Sajid Nadiadwala embarks on a block buster,
he leaves no stone unturned to package it in grand style. For
his forthcoming MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI featuring Salman Khan,Akshay
Kumar and Priyanka Chopra and directed by David Dhawan, Sajid
has made quite a few promos and trailors recently that have
to be seen to be believed. After a preview of the trailors
recently, the traders from all over gave a standing ovation. The
style and content are slickly mounted and one of its kind,
and these are any yardstick to go by,Sajid Nadiadwala surely
has an ace up his sleeve. Bravo !.
Men in skirts
- Midday: July 4, 2004
Stop gushing over Brad and his boys in those leather minis
in Greece. Check out Bollywood's hot bods in grass skirts
in Goa instead.
Sallu and Akki are dressing down in their new movie Mujhse
Shaadi Karogi to impress their neighbour Rani, played by Priyanka
Chopra.
This side-splitting film features Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar
as roommates Sunny and Samir who fall out when they fall in
love with the same girl.
The two will pull any stunt in this David Dhawan-directed,
Sajid Nadiadwala-produced caper, including doing the hula
to capture her heart. Love is war for Salman and Akshay when
Mujhse Shaadi Karogi hits theatres this month!
Similarity - AKC: June 29, 2004
There is one more similarity between Biwi No.1 and Mujhse
Shaadi Karogi apart from the fact that both starred Salman
Khan in the lead role and both were directed by David Dhawan
.
And that uncanny resemblance is in the storyline of both the
films. Flashback to 1999 when Biwi No.1 was released. It had
Sushmita Sen leaving Saif Ali Khan for a married man played
by Salman. The story of the film shifted to Salman and his
extra marital affair even though he was married to Karishma
Kapoor in the film.
Now come to Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, which will soon hit the
theatres. The film has Amrita Arora leaving Salman, who then
goes on to fall for Priyanka Chopra .
Akshay Kumar completes the triangle in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi
as he is also in love with Priyanka and that’s what
the movie is about.
But just as Sushmita settled with Saif in Biwi No.1, will
Salman leave Priyanka for Akshay and settle with Amrita Mujhse
Shaadi Karogi ? That is the question. And no prizes for guessing
because your guess is as good as ours.
Wait for the release of the film on 30th July.
Amrita in MSK - IndiaFM: June 28, 2004
Amrita Arora has a special appearance in David Dhawan's Mujhse
Shaadi Karogi. And no, this time it's not an item number.
The sister of Malaika Arora Khan plays the ex-lover of the
brother of Arbaaz Khan in the film. In short, Amrita plays
Salman's ex-girlfriend in the film who ditches him mid-ways
after which Salman falls in for Priyanka.
Does that mean Salman settles down for Amrita all over again
in the end giving Akshay chance for Priyanka? Nah, we are
not saying anything, wait for the movie.
Sajid and Akshay - June 27, 2004
Sajid Nadiadwala on Salman during the making of 'Mujhse Shaadi
Karogi"
Its been 15 yrs since i know Salman and something or the other
draws us together. The best thing about Salman is that he
gives my film bulk dates which helps me finish the film fast.
Even for this film he agreed to do the film without hearing
the story. He makes up for the dates if he is not well or
something. After his jail days he made up for the lost time
by over working so that the producer should not bear the loss.
We all want this film to do well since we all have put in
a great effort, My films lack creativity but they are out
and out commercial. Film making is a business so my films
will have to be commercial first.
Akshay on Salman
I have worked with David and priyanka before but this is for
the first time i am working with Salman and it has been a
wonderful experience working with him. I remember Salman's
words, " Akshay this is my last film with you. You arrive
early on the sets and just to keep up with you i too have
to get up early and be on the sets." But i am sure Salman
and i going to work in other film soon.
Character Sketches - Deep Hembrol: June 24,
2004
There are those humble souls who won't mind giving up their
love for the sake of their friend and then there are Samir
(Salman Khan) and Sunny (Akshay Kumar). The two roommates
are determined to give each other a hard time when both fall
in love with Rani (Priyanka Chopra).
The character sketches:
Salman Khan Brawny and handsome Samir works as a lifeguard
on one of the beaches of beautiful Goa. The much-sought out
bachelor under the sun looses his heart when he stumbles upon
Rani. All his efforts to win Rani go astray as Sunny enters
the scene.
Akshay Kumar Sunny an equally smart suitor for Rani but a
formidable challenge for Samir. Besides sharing an apartment
with Samir his objective is to misfire Samir's plans and to
make his own ends meet
Priyanka Chopra Rani a young fashion designer and daughter
of a Army man Col. Dugraj Singh (Amrish Puri) finds the tussle
amidst the two suitors for her entertaining and invigorating.
Director David Dhawan's expertise and specialization is in
the comic front and his past record that has films like Shola
aur Shabnam, Aankhein, Coolie No.1, Hero No.1, Deewana Mastana,
Haseena Maan Jayegi are enough for the account. Along with
the main leads the cast also includes Rajpal Yadav, Satish
Shah who will help in tickling the funny bone. Another highlight
is the special appearence of the Kaanta laga girl Shefali
Zariwala who also has a song sequence in the film. The romantic
comedy offers nothing but oodles of laughter all the way but
who gets the queen? Find out yourself in Muhjse Shaadi Karogi.
MSK is tentatively scheduled for 30th July 2004 release.
On the Pitch - Indiatimes: June 24, 2004
Movies, shaadi and cricket are the big three in India. And
producer Sajid Nadiadwala seems to have come up with the perfect
mix of success with his ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karoge'. So while
Priyanka Chopra is struggling with the choice of two hunks
– Sallu and Akki – there's some more news coming
over the grapevine that will bowl all movie and cricket lovers
over –literally! Rumour has it that for one of the scenes
of the film the resourceful Sajid has roped in real cricket
superstars like Kapil Dev, Irfan Patel, Navjot Singh and Harbhajan
Singh (among others) to make a brief appearance in one scene
that is reportedly shot on a cricket pitch. Though, when quizzed,
secretive Sajid simply said, “I deny it!” Well,
so we guess we'll have to wait and see for ourselves. But
it sure reeks of a boundary already!
Curtain Raiser - Stardust(July): June 24,
2004
THE BRIDE
PRIYANKA CHOPRA
'Akshay, I've worked with before & there was a comfort
level. Initially, with Salman, there was a distance. But he
was very sweet. He was very understanding & patient with
me. He'd make suggestions & all that & he looked after
me. No, he didn't play any wild pranks on me. Naah, not at
all. [well then, she's certainly missed something!]. I've heard
abt his pranks. He was really sweet.
SUITOR NO. 1
AKSHAY KUMAR
'I've worked with David Dhawam in 'Mr & Mrs Khiladi',
& Priyanka in 'Andaz' before. It was only the first time
working with Salman & I really enjoyed the experience.
We had a great time working & we didn't even realise when
the movie got over, in just about 35 days. I always remember
that statement of his , that Salman said, ' Akshay, this is
my last film with you. Because you come on the sets every
morning by 6 & 7 & I can't, but i have to keep up
with you just to portray myself also as being on time. So
this is my last film with you'.
But that is just a joke, may be we'll be doing another film
together soon.
And who gets the girl? Good question, try again'
SUITOR NO. 2
SALMAN KHAN
Probably the 397 th woman he must be wooing. All we can say
is, hope he gets the girl this time round, considering that
his luck on that score in films has been as bad as his real
life score!
SPECIAL APPEARANCE
AMRITA ARORA
Amrita Arora has a special appearance where she plays Salman's
past lover, who literally leaves him high & dry at the
altar. 'It was like a home production on Sajid's sets, with
Salman & Sajid & Davidji too. It was so comfortable
& such fun to be even a small part of the movie', chirps
Amrita, who, for the first time, has been cast opposite her
superstar brother-in-law [in a way].
HOPEFULLY, THEY ALL LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER
Cricketers in MSK - IndiaFM: June 22, 2004
It was meant to be one big secret, but not anymore! Producer
Sajid Nadiadwala and director David Dhawan have decided to
do away with the usual humdrum ending for their Salman Khan,
Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra starrer MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI.
Besides the three lead players, guess who participated in
the picturization of the climax in Bangalore recently? Noted
cricketers Kapil Dev, Navjot Singh Siddhu, Harbhajan Singh,
Irfan Pathan, Mohammed Kaif, Ashish Nehra, Parthiv Patel and
Srinath. "The climax of the film is on a cricket pitch,
hence the participation of cricketers," MUJHSE SHAADI
KAROGI director David Dhawan informs me.
While the promotions of MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI on television
have already gathered momentum, the enterprising producer
of the film has now come up with a 64-page palm-sized book,
which gives an insight into this love triangle, besides tips
on how to woo a woman. The pics of the three stars in various
moods only increase the curiosity towards the film.
Meanwhile, David is all geared up to start shooting of the
Salman Khan, Sushmita Sen, Katrina Kaif, Arshad Warsi and
Rajpal Yadav starrer [not titled yet] from July onwards. Produced
by Dhilin Mehta, Seema Kar and Sohail Khan, the film has music
by Himesh Reshammiya.
Synopsis - AKC: June 22, 2004
Two guys in love with the same girl. Both trying every possible
antic to win her love. Both are arch-enemies but still they
have to put up in the same apartment. David Dhawan's Mujhse
Shaadi Karogi promises to be a laugh riot.
Samir (Salman Khan) is a brawny hunk working as a lifeguard
in Goa. He is a handsome guy who hardly cares a hoot for the
average-looking beach beauties. Only a stunner could catch
his attention.
One day he spots a girl who almost makes his heart burst out.
She is Rani (Priyanka Chopra), an aspiring designer dedicated
to making her career. A totally smitten Samir gets down to
the act of wooing her. But there are hurdles galore.
The first one is none other than his flatmate Sunny (Akshay
Kumar), who is no less besotted with Rani. And surprisingly
the streak of luck often favors Sunny, while everything Samir
does to impress Rani goes spectacularly wrong. Even the advises
from Samir's astrologer friend Raj (Rajpal Yadav) bring forth
nothing ominous for him.
And then there is hurdle number two - Rani's stern father
Colonel Dugraj Singh (Amrish Puri) who fought the Goan war
against the Portuguese and is now retired and over-protective
about his daughter.
While both Samir and Sunny try their best to woo Rani, she
discovers fun and enjoyment in life, all this while keeping
both the men on tenterhooks.
MSK - Indolink: June 17, 2004
I first heard the words "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi" in
a Dhavid Dhawan flick called Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge. When I
first heard the plot of the story, the first feeling I got
was: 1) Does it star Govinda? (Hopefully not!) and 2) Is it
Deewana Mastana 2? (Once again hopefully not!)
David Dhawan filled the 1990s with some rib-tickling comedies
such as: Raja Babu, Coolie #1, Aankhen, Deewana Mastana, and
others we remember.
Over the last few years, this director has had bad luck with
making mediocre comedies, but with Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, he's
got a competent and talented cast and a plot that may bring
the audiences to believe in the D-man.
So what's this story about? Its quite simple, we got handsome
Samir (Salman Khan) living in Goa and he falls in love with
Rani (Priyanka Chopra). Sunny (Akshay Kumar) also falls for
Rani. Sound familiar? We have two grown men playing mind tricks
to outsmart the other to win this woman's affections.
With both hunks running after this beauty, there is bound
to be comedy. Both guys want to marry Rani, but does she feel
the connection with one of them? Slated for a July release,
this is one comedy I think we should look forward too. The
inside buzz is looking positive and the promos look appealing
to pull in all types of audiences. Hopefully, we will regain
our faith in David Dhawan comedies again.
Salman Khan has had a big hit with Dhawan before in Biwi #
1 while Akshay Kumar has a mediocre film, Mr. & Mrs. Khiladi
to his credit. This is Priyanka Chopra's first attempt at
comedy on the screen with Dhawan. Hopefully, the on-screen
chemistry she shares with her co-stars works in favour for
the movie.
We have some funny supporting cast members who play important
roles in this love triangle: Amrish Puri, Satish Shah, and
Rajpal Yadav.
As an added bonus, we get to see yet another Matrix sequence
in this Bollywood film. Supposedly, a shirtless Salman takes
on a hundred Akshays. Sounds like something new in Bollywood,
but I think the Matrix in Indian films is getting stale. Hopefully,
RS. 50 million invested in scene is worth the watch.
10 lakhs in 2 weeks - Indolink: June 17,

The critics and music rewiers had a field day putting down
the music of David Dhawan´s ´Mujhse Shaadi Karogi´
.
However , as always the paying public has a mind of its own
and the audio of ´Mujhse Shaadi Karogi´ has achieved
an astonishing sales of 10 lakh units in just two weeks ,
a figure that took ´Hum Tum´ a couple of months
to achieve Another big winner for the audio giants T-Series
after ´Main Hoon Na´ .

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is pleased at the curiosity he is
arousing courtesy the promos of his next release Mujhse Shaadi
Karogi, directed by David Dhawan and starring Salman Khan,
Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra.
“The film is about marriage with both guys proposing
to the girl, so I thought why not use a wedding invite as
a promo? The first promo had Salman getting the girl, now
we will have Akshay getting her. So people will then naturally
wonder whose wedding is it?”
But hadn't Sajid said somewhere that Sajid himself gets the
girl? “No way!” he guffaws with laughter. “I
am a happily married man.”
Apart from the promos, a very big USP, Sajid feels, is the
combo of Sallu and Akki for the first time. “In all
my earlier releases, I have introduced a fresh pairing like
Sunny-Salman in Jeet, Sanjay (Dutt)-Govinda in Andolan and
Rani-Preity in Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega to name some.”
But that's not all. A main highlight of this “romantic
comedy”, Sajid informs us is “the Kaanta lagaa
number by Shefali Jariwala.” Yes, the original Kaanta
Lagaa girl! “But it is not an item number,” Sajid
says because he doesn't go for such numbers in his films.
"Though Shefali is dancing to the Kaanta Lagaa song in
Mujhse Shaadi Karoge, it has not been shot as an item number
but as a part of the sequence in the film. She has a cameo
role in the film.”
So will Sallu and Akki go for Shefali? Now that would be a
tale worth telling...

You can't miss the teaser of Sajid Nadiadwala's Mujhse Shaadi
Karogi. Packaged in the form of a wedding invitation, we are
introduced to Rani (Priyanka Chopra) who is either getting
married to Sameer (Salman Khan) or Sunny (Akshay Kumar). Wedding
organiser David Dhawan wants to keep the suspense till the
last minute. The film is slated for an early July release.
Let's hope the film is as interesting as the invite.
May 02, 2004
The first promo of 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' will be of 30 seconds
duration and will feature the two lead actor's Akshay Kumar
and Salman Khan and will be aired around the second week of
May.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is working overtime to make sure
that its a stunner as it features Akshay and Salman for the
first time in spite of being in the industry for almost 14
years.

If sources are to be believed, David Dhawan, the badshaah
of masala fares, is all set to bounce back with MUJHSE SHAADI
KAROGI. David looked out of form in his last few films, but
the director with maximum hits to his credit seems to have
spun magic in MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI. “It has shaped up
amazingly well,” David tells me, “Though Salman
and Akshay have been teamed for the first time, the on-screen
chemistry is fantastic. That's one of the prime reasons why
the film is looking great.”
Known for directing multiple films, David has decided to take
it easy once MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI releases. “I've decided
to reinvent my strategies. But that shouldn't be misconstrued
as taking a break from work. The offers continue to pour in
like never before. I am doing a film for Indra Kumar and Ashok
Thakeria [starring Sanjay Dutt], plus there's a project with
Vashu Bhagnani in the pipeline. It's just that I am doing
some serious rethinking about the kind of movies I intend
making in the future,” he states.
What actually prompted David to arrive at this decision? “It's
time we changed with the rapidly-changing times. The same
oft-repeated formula will not work anymore,” he adds,
“I am watching a lot of movies these days. While in
Pakistan recently, I picked up lots of movies that I intend
catching up on. You've to change before the viewers show you
the exit door.” True!

The entire shooting of Nadiadwala Grandson entertainment's,
'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', is now complete and the dubbing has
started. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by David
Dhawan, the film pairs two of India’s hottest box-office
stars today, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar (together for the
first time), along with Priyanka Chopra. The movie was sold
out across India on the day of its launching and is one of
the hottest awaited movies of 2004, in the distribution circle.
The film has music by Sajid-Wajid (previously by Anu Malik)
and is due for release on July 16th.

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala and the three leading actors of
his film, ´Mujhse Shaadi Karogi ´, make a lucky
quartet . That is if one believes that nine is a lucky number,
numerologically speaking. Numerologists assert that things
will be fine for those whose birth date adds up to nine, and
the birth dates of each of the of the foursome does, in fact,
total nine.
Sajid´s birth date is 18th February (1+8=9) , Salman
Khan´s is 27th December, Akshay Kumar´s is 9th
September and Priyanka Chopra´s is 18th July . The only
´odd guy ´ out is the films director David Dhawan,
whose birthday falls on 16th August . But that does not make
David any less lucky . For seven (1+6=7) , too is considered
lucky.
Any which way, each of the four persons has a reason to be
on cloud nine or in seventh heaven! Are the distributors of
´Mujhse Shaadi Karogi´ smiling too?

Ever heard of a producer putting up a set in a foreign land?
Well, that's exactly what producer Sajid Nadiadwala is doing
for his comedy flick, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. Producers usually
shoot on locations and bungalows when abroad. But besides
that, Nadiadwala will also shoot on a huge set he is getting
built in Mauritius.
Art director Sharmishta Roy is already there since 20 days
with her team, busy erecting a huge set for the film starring
Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra. Roy's set for
the same film at Film City in Mumbai had become the talk of
the industry for its fine detailing.
Director David Dhawan is scheduled to shoot not just songs
but also action scenes of the love triangle on the set in
Mauritius and locations in the foreign country in a month-long
stint beginning January 9th. Sajid is expected to take a unit
of 300 people to Mauritius for the shoot.

The cute pug which is currently the ‘follow me' model
in cell-phone commercials will emerge a ‘big-screen
celeb' in its own right after the release of this movie Mujhse
Shaadi Karoge directed by David Dhawan.
Apparently, the star doggie belongs to heroine Priyanka Chopra
in the movie and is the centre of attraction when it does
the ‘vanishing act'. Ask the heroes of the film Salman
Khan and Akshay Kumar and they will share the tensions of
‘puppy love' with you.
December 11 , 2003
Producer Sajid Nadiawala wants something hatke.None of the
usual dishum-dishum between two heroes in his latest film,
Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. So, you have Salman Khan fighting 100
Akshay Kumars for heroine Priyanka Chopra!
Nadiawala explains, "I bought the same camera used in
Keanu Reaves' Matrix series [where Keanu fights 100 Agent
Smiths], and we will create 100 Akshays fighting Salman. It
will be one of the unique scenes in our film. The technical
term of this motion camera will be understood only by those
who know photography. It helps in the multiplication of images."
Nadiadwala hopes Indian audiences will love this technology.
"The camera costs Rs 5 crore [Rs 50 million]. I imported
it specially from Hollywood for this film," he says.
Director David Dhawan gets ready for the shot. When he yells
'action', Akshay Kumar steps forward, along with two look-alikes.
Replete with artificial nose and padded jaws, it is hard to
tell the difference between Akshay and his look-alikes.
Salman takes his position against the three Akshays after
taking his shirt off and displaying his muscles. After the
shot, he struts around shirtless with light blue jeans and
cowboy shoes. A earring in his navel grabs attention.
When asked about three Akshays on the sets, Dhawan replies,
"Watch the film and you will see what wonders we are
doing with it. I cannot reveal anything more because it will
lead to revealing the story."
Nadiadwala plans to spend Rs 22 crore [Rs 220 million] on
the film. After its Mumbai stint, the unit will fly to Mauritius
and Italy to shoot 50 per cent of the film.
In Mumbai, the shooting venue is atop a hillock in Film City.
Called Helipad, the place is windy, green and very silent.
There are no buildings around.
Some children roller skate and cycle for the shot. A huge
library has the numbers 1850 painted on it. A church, some
restaurants and pubs constitute the rest of the sets.
Nadiadwala claims he had wanted to shoot in Goa, but couldn't
go there. So he tried to recreate Goa in Mumbai's Film City.
Akshay states that he was keen to learn more about the technology
in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. "I know there were some scenes
in Matrix which took 90 days to shoot. It is interesting to
know about this technology. But it will take a long time for
such technologies to come to India."
Salman was forthcoming. "I have only understood what
they are doing in the shots," he says. "I don't
want to get into the details of the camera and technicalities.
It is best that the people who handle the camera do their
job well so that the audience will love the film on screen."
Mujhse Shaadi Karogi is likely to release in May 2004.
December 10 ,
2003
Sajid Nadiadwala has specially imported hi-tech motion control
machines from Hollywood for his upcoming Salman Khan - Akshay
Kumar starrer "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi" to be directed
by David Dhawan. This is for the first time that these machines
would be used in a Bollywood movie for executing action sequences
similar to those, witnessed in the Hollywood superhits like
'Matrix'.
Commented an enthusiastic looking Akshay Kumar "I am
trying to understand what the whole thing is. Now I realize
that things they have done in Matrix, like the scene in which
60 persons who were looking the same and attacking Keanu Reeves
took about 90 days to shoot. This kind of tecnology coming
in India will be a great thing and let's see how successful
we can be as this is the first time it's going to happen over
here between me and Salman."
A whopping 1.5 crores will be spent for the picturization
of this 4 minute sequence in the film.
December 04, 2003
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has some mega plans for his forthcoming
film ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karoge'. Nope, we are not talking
about Salman and Akshay Kumar coming together for the first
time—that's stale news. The latest on the front is that
Nadiadwala is bringing Goa to Mumbai. And for that he successfully
transformed an entire patch of Filmcity into Goa . Designer
Sharmista Roy has created a set which resembles Goa . Apparently
around 40,000 massive wood planks were used to construct the
sets, which forced producers of three different films to cancel
their shoots because of the scarcity of wood planks. When
asked about it, Nadiadwala laughs, “Yeah there was some
shortage. I heard Raj Kanwar had to cancel his shoots as a
result. Actually we had to use lots of planks all over to
support the sets, as it is situated at a height and there
are strong winds blowing in these parts.”

Salman Khan is chasing a dog to win Priyanka Chopra's heart
in Film City!
No, it's not real life but reel life. It's the shooting of
Sajid Nadiadwala's Mujhse Shaadi Karoge directed by David
Dhawan and starring Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Priyanka
Chopra.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala says about his film, “I am
a romantic and David is comic. Thus Mujhse Shaadi Karoge is
a romantic comedy.” The film is special for him because,
“Two of my close friends are coming together for the
first time.
One is a school friend (Kumar) and the other is a business
friend (Khan). These guys have been in the industry for 12
years and they have never worked together so getting them
together was great.”
Dhawan is having a ball making such light, breezy entertainers
because, “As a maker you should enjoy what you are doing.
Manmohan Desai used to make only entertaining films.”
On his hero Salman he says, “This is my fifth film with
Salman. We share an amazing professional relationship. He
is a very good actor and almost like a child.” According
to Dhawan, “Akshay Kumar has improved in leaps and bounds
in every way from Mr and Mrs Khiladi to now. He is a great
guy, he picks up so fast.”
Leading lady Chopra plays Rani, who is “a simple girl
with simple aspirations living in Goa and wants to make it
big as a designer. It's a situational comedy,” Chopra
says.
She describes the scene they are shooting today. “I
have a dog called Tommy and my father is very attached to
him. Salman brings a fake dog and gives it to him to win my
affection and I say what a good guy he is.
This makes him one up on Akshay who seethes in frustration.”
Kumar says it in simpler terms. “It's a love triangle
based in Goa, where two roommates fall in love with their
neighbour's daughter and both ask her mujhse shaadi karoge?
I play Sunny who loves to create misunderstandings between
people.”
Salman plays a Baywatch-like lifeguard's role in the film.
Says Khan, “My character feels angry at every wrong
thing done.” He continues, “For the first time
David has tried to convey some message to his audience.
His message is that when your time is bad no matter what you
do, things will always go wrong and secondly you cannot keep
a talented man down for long.”
Set appeal
• The film will also have special effects like timeslide,
burlybrawls and multiplications, some of which were used in
The Matrix. A special effects team from Australia is coming
down for that.
• The set resembles Goa. Apparently, number of planks
used to construct the sets was over 40,000. So many planks
were used in this shoot, that at one point producers of three
different films had to cancel their shoots because they couldn't
get enough planks.
Nadiadwala admits, “There was shortage of planks all
over because we used so many planks because of the length
and height of the sets.
Usually a set may have more or less than this amount. But
since we have constructed buildings having heights of two
or three floors we have had to use lots of planks.
We could have shot in Goa if we needed to shoot for just four
or five days. But since it's was more than that we had to
construct the set here. The approximate set amount at ground
level has cost us about Rs 3 crore.”

She shot to fame, tattoo and all, with a music video. Most
folks know her as the ‘Kaanta Laga' girl, rather than
by name. It's an identity that Shefali Jariwala is going to
find very hard to get rid of. But these days, it's not something
she's giving much thought to — especially because the
blue eye shadow and the faux-thongs are helping rake in the
bucks. Now, before you let your imagination run away with
you, let's tell you what we're implying. We're told, and Shefali
confirms it, that a film with Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan
is in the offing.
“It's not a role, it's a guest appearance,” says
Shefali, and we'll decode that for you — she means ‘item
number'.
The Kaanta Laga track with Shefali and her now-famous moves
will be replayed on the big screen in this Sajid Nadiadwala
film. Love it or hate it, here's the song again!

The second shooting schedule of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainments
Mujhse Shaadi Karoge, is currently on at a huge set at Film
City and will conclude on December 20. Two Songs and scenes
will be picturised. Being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and
directed by David Dhawan, the film stars Salman Khan, Akshay
Kumar and Priyanka Chopra. Script is by Anees Bazmi and music
by Anu Malik.
November 20, 2003
Contrary to speculation, it's not ‘good friend' Katrina
Kaif who plays Salman Khan's wife in Mujhse Shaadi Karoge
(Priyanka Chopra in the lead). Amrita Arora plays the macho
Khan's biwi. As is known, Amrita is Malaika Arora-Khan's sibling,
so Salman is “like family to me and we have a great
rapport”.

While on producer Sajid Nadiadwala and his new film , Mujhse
Shaadi Karoge , its launching was not a routine event because
Sajid did what very few producer´s may have done in
the past . He invited all his distributors to Bombay to attend
the muhurat and put them up at a 5-star hotel at his own expense
.
Sajid now intends taking his all-India distributors to Mauritius
for a week in November this year when the film starring Salman
Khan ,Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra , will be shot there.
Says Sajid , " For a film to be sold for all-India on
the day of its muhurat is no mean achievement in today´s
times. My movie , Mujhse Shaadi Karoge has been picked up by
all my permanent distributors who have always stood by me.
I owe them a foreign trip".

Govinda recently announced that he would quit working in comedy
films. But his mentor, director David Dhawan, whose films
like Raja Babu , Coolie No 1, and Hero No 1 have featured
Govinda, has no such plan. "I am not tired of making
comedy films," said Dhawan. "It is a way of life."
So, Dhawan recently launched Mujhse Shaadi Karogi , a comic
love triangle starring Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka
Chopra.
His cast is backing him on his venture as well. "I loved
the script and said yes to the role immediately," Salman
Khan said.
Like in his latest hit Tere Naam , Khan has a new hairstyle
for this film. He has gone in for hair-weaving. "The
role demanded this look," Khan explained, "so I
am adopting this hairstyle. I only hope everyone loves it
just like they loved my look in Tere Naam ."
Referring to the success of Tere Naam , he admitted, "I
never expected the film will do this well at the box office."
Akshay Kumar clad in a brown suit seemed to be in high spirits
after the success of Andaaz , his latest film. He pointed
out that he has slowly eased into comedy from his earlier
action films. "I am comfortable now," he said. "I
think we all did a good job in [ Priyadarsan's ] Hera Pheri
[ co-starring Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty ]. I have no
problems acting in a comedy film."
The two actors refused to speak much about their roles, saying
it is a secret.
All David Dhawan would say was that both Akshay and Salman
are in love with Priyanka. They want to marry her and have
a simple question for her, Mujhse shaadi karogi ? And that
is the title of the film.
September 14, 2003
Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar will fight it out to win the
heart of former Miss World Priyanka Chopra in a new comedy
to be directed by ace film maker David Dhawan.
"Mujhse Shaadi Karogi?", was announced this week
by Dhawan who is known for making some of Bollywood's best
known comic films such as "Coolie Number One" and
"Biwi Number One".
"'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi?' is about two men chasing one
woman and want to marry her. It is a complete entertainer
and a comedy film," Dhawan told AFP.
Dhawan, who has not delivered a hit for more than two years,
is confident his latest venture will fare well at the box
office because he is tapping into the talents of two actors
whose careers are on the ascendant.
Khan's latest film "Tere Naam" and Kumar's "Andaaz"
are both faring well at the box office.
Dhawan is not worried that audiences may reject the action
heroes taking comic roles, saying they both have done so in
the past.
"The film will appeal because the script is brilliant
and Akshay and Salman have proved themselves to be good comedians
by making hit comedy films early in their careers," Dhawan
said.
"I have worked with Salman and he is very spontaneous
in comedy scenes."
Kumar delivered a hit comedy film "Hera Pheri" two
years ago while Khan worked with Dhawan five years ago in
"Biwi Number One", which did good business at the
box office.
"I am very comfortable with comedy. I have been in the
industry for more than a decade now and can manage any kind
of role," said Khan.
The past year has been particularly traumatic for Khan after
he was arrested for a hit-and-run case when he allegedly drove
his imported vehicle over five homeless men killing one and
injuring four.
"Tere Naam" was his first film to be released after
the accident case. "I never expected 'Tere Naam' to do
so well. I am grateful to God and to all the people who made
my film a hit," he said.
Both Kumar and Chopra are upbeat about "Mujhse Shaadi
Karogi?", which will cost Rs 250 million. It will be
shot in Italy, South Africa and Mumbai.
"I will try my best to give a good performance and make
people laugh in the film," Kumar told AFP.
"I am feeling thrilled to work in the film because I
will try my hand for the first time at comedy and that too
working with a comedy king director like David Dhawan,"
said Chopra, who has acted in two action films, "Andaaz"
and "Hero".
"Mujhse Shaadi Karogi?" is expected to be ready
by summer 2004.

“It's all about love, romance and other natural disasters,”
said Sajid Khan about producer Sajid Nadiadwala's new film
Mujhse Shadi Karogi, at its launch at Filmistan Studios yesterday.
The unusual combination cast of Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar
and Priyanka Chopra cut what Sajid called the ‘cake
of success' to inaugurate the film. The two-tier cake actually
toppled while it was being cut, but with their respective
recent hits — Tere Naam and Andaz — Salman, Akshay
and Priyanka looked as if they'd already tasted success.
If you are wondering why anyone would cast two action heroes
in a romantic film, director David Dhawan is quick to reply:
“They look so good together. They were our first choice.”
When Nadiadwala first decided to work on the film, he called
Salman Khan. The next call was to old school friend Akshay
Kumar. “I have cast combinations like Akshay Kumar-Sunil
Shetty in Waqt Hamara Hai, Salman-Sunny Deol in Jeet or even
Salman in a double role before,” he explains.
The mahurat was held on a portion of the set where Salman's
introductory shot was to be filmed. Some 30 cameras were laid
out for the occasion.
Nadiadwala's trio took centrestage at the mahurat, and he
hopes they will at the box office too. And wishing him well
on the occasion were Sanjay Dutt, Preity Zinta, Karan Johar,
Farah Khan (who's the choreographer for the film), Atul Agnihotri,
Puneet Issar, Ayub Khan and others.

The launch of Sajid Nadiadwala's MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI has
been preponed. The film will now roll on September 9, instead
of September 10. Produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment,
a 15-day schedule of the film will begin soon after the launch.
Cast: Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra. Director:
David Dhawan. Music: Anu Malik. Choreography: Farah Khan.

After falling in love, failing to woo her man and losing him
to another woman in both her films, The Hero and Andaaz, actress
Priyanka Chopra will now have two men chase her. In Sajid
Nadiadwala's next Mujhse Shaadi Karoge, Salman Khan and Akshay
Kumar will woo the actress and fight over her.
May 14, 2003
Both are hunks. Both have had female fans drool over them
for years now. While one is still footloose, the other turned
papa less than a year ago. Now, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar
will bond together on-screen for the first time in producer
Sajid Nadiadwala's Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. The film, which is
said to be a comedy, will be directed by David Dhawan under
the banner of Nadiadwala Grandsons. The shooting for the film
will begin in July. Mujhse Shaadi Karogi is scripted by Anees
Bazmee who, with Dhawan, has delivered hits like Aankhen (Govinda,
