- Pankaj on TNBP
Parashar's re-entry was prompted by
his son's statement while watching a TV commercial. "He
asked me, "If you have made this commercial, why isn't
your name there?" I decided to make a film. I had many
options and chose this one as I was happy with the producer
and the hero. They were keen on making the movie fast."
Parashar does not stop
extolling Salman Khan's virtues. "Salman's performance
is the film's USP," insists Parashar. "The film
explores his real potential as an actor and he has done
very well. Contrary to what one hears about him, he was
very cooperative. He has been very involved with the film.
He has cycled to and forth from the studio to his house
and still reached on time. He would gleefully show his watch
and show that he was ready 15 minutes before time."
Probe him more on the
movie and Parashar comes up with a blinder: "Expect
the unexpected from this film, just when you are thinking,
you know what will happen, the film will undergo a twist,"
he smiles.
And Pankaj Twister proceeds
to give a thumbnail sketch of his movie. "It is about
Salman Khan who is a Thakur's son and he falls in love with
a Thakur's daughter Diya Mirza and then suddenly he loses
his memory. He now has some memories which he believes are
from a past life. How he unravels the mystery is the story."
And there is Sushmita Sen.
A love triangle? "No. But I am not telling you anything."
Parashar stops at that and begins to discuss the fate of
another film at the box-office.
We revert to his film and
the veritable presence of his pet performer Johnny Lever
in the film. "He was asked to shoot for the film and
he said that he was too busy. But when he got to know who
the director was, he shot all night in Mumbai, flew down
to Rajasthan shot again with me and came back. Such was
his dedication."
Praises also flow for Sen.
"She never shoots beyond nine hours for anyone. She
leaves at six pm when she arrives at nine am for a shoot.
But she shot late into the night for me for a few days,"
he beams.
Parashar himself started
the film late last year and finished his shoot in 67 days.
"The film has been shot in record time. We have been
shooting at a record pace. When we started the film, the
second half of the movie was not ready. But we still worked
hard on it. There were some valuable inputs from Salman
too. He has acted in 70 films and must have done over 3,500
scenes. So he knows what the commercial market is all about.
All these suggestions were implemented. If he felt that
a scene wouldn't work, he knows what he is talking."

Movie star Salman Khan is in Jaipur shooting for his new
film Tum Ko Na Bhool Payenge. For the first time in his
career he is trying to complete a film in a non-stop three-month
schedule perhaps because he also happens to be the film's
co-producer.
Salman Khan is romancing
a beauty queen in Jaipur but no it is not Aishwarya Rai it
is former Miss Asia-Pacific Diya Mirza. In fact the Bollywood
star is shooting for his new film Tum Ko Na Bhool Payenge
in which he is paired with not one but two beauty queens the
other being Miss Universe turned actress Sushmita Sen. The
film a romantic thriller is being shot at a single stretch
of nearly three months but true to Bollywood style. The entire
unit has their lips zipped about the plot.
Director, Pankaj Parashar,
expressed, "It is a love story and a thriller. It is about
a simple character in a small town who is a Thakur's son.
Suddenly he gets memory flashes, which intrigue him, and he
wants to know why it is happening to him. Then the mystery
starts and the rest you see on the screen."
Tum Ko Na Bhool Payenge is
being made under the banner of Baba Films who earlier produced
blockbusters like Pyar to Hona Hi Tha and Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge.
The film is likely to be released by the end of the year with
the Salman Khan trademark of romance, action and comedy thrown
in with a dash of mystery.
